First Week in Baruun Urt. #102

Hey Everyone, Last Monday morning, Elder Talich and I took the 8 hour drive with President Kunz and 2 church employees to Baruun Urt. As soon as we arrived here the Govenor rolled out the red carpet. Around 150 people sat in the provinces congress chamber to welcome us. Seriously the coolest thing to feel their gratitude. They had a talented young singer preform, gave a word of gratitude, and gave gifts... before taking us to dinner afterwards. Elder Talich and I teach about 12 hours of English a week to students 8-12 grade. During my whole time in Mongolia, I've never seen such studious and respectful students! We are making friends left and right. One friend took us out to meet nomads and livestock. Our neighbors had us over for games and dinner. Our other neighboor, had us over to learn what we belie
ve. Our friends at the education department include us in weekly department volleyball haha. However its not all sunshine and rainbows... starting from ground 0 is really really difficult. We don't have a place to run sacrament meeting. Its frigid and windy outside. We have yet to find any long lost church members. But we didn't come here because it would be easy, but because it would be worth it. We are trying to help people smile and feel joy because Jesus Christ paid the price. He is the way, the truth, and the light. It is by his grace we are saved, by his strength we succeed, by his divine providence we live. If there be any fruits in the work let it reflect the goodness of the vineyards master, our Lord Jesus Christ. Love you all, Elder Bateman
