Elder Andersen comes to Mongolia. #99
Hey Everyone!
Miracles are happening. Elder Andersen visited Mongolia and conducted a national broadcast to share with us the new temple design. He also met with us missionaries and laid out his vision for the church in Mongolia.
Elder Cook and I were going to baptized Jawkhlan an 18 year old last Saturday. But the morning of the baptism his Uncle (the bishop), called and let us know that he's been drafted to the Mongolian Military and will have to give 1 year obligated service. Very sad he can't be baptized at this time, but hopefully military service will make him a man of greater character.
Last week Elder Cook and I found an art school located inside a Russian Orthodox Church. We made friends with them and found out the school helps kids who have learning disabilities. We played UNO with them and now some come to English class and sacrament meeting!
Last Wednesday Elder Cook and I took a 36 hour trip for an exchange. This included 24 hours on the bus and a 12 hour workday in Choibalsan. The bus literally destroyed our bodies... neck, knees, back you name it: it hurt. But on exchange we got to teach many lessons and do service, so it was worth it!
I loved general conference this week! general Chad H. Web explained how we must help Jesus Christ come alive for those who are learning of him. He quoted The Lion, the witch, and the wardrobe where C.S. Lewis does exactly that for his readers! "When a willing victim who had committed no treachery was killed in a traitor’s stead, the Stone Table would crack and Death itself would start working backward."
Jesus Christ renews us. He heals us and He will resurrect us. Through his love and divine power all shall be made right.
Love you guys!
Elder Bateman
