Jesus Heals #97
Hi guys,
Hope yall had a great last week, and that you are soaking up the goodness life has to offer!
I've often wondered why some of us are born with different weaknesses and difficulties. Sometimes it just seems unfair. Why are some blind, some deaf, some mute, and some deformed? Why are some more athletic, some more talented, smarter, or eloquent? Why does it seem as if there are those who are born way more unfortunate due to no fault of their own?
Dialogue from John 9 is revealing... As Jesus was walking, He saw a man blind from birth. The disciples asked, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
Jesus answered,
“Neither this man nor his parents sinned: but that the work (glory) of God may be manifest in him.”
Each and every one of us has weakness, personal struggle, and imperfections (some more visible, some less). And why? That we may overcome it by not only effort but by faith and the healing grace of Jesus Christ. That we might learn to love, be patient, and kind to one another. To this end that we might become as our Father who is in heaven and have joy.
With no weight, we can become no stronger. With no taste of suffering, there is no taste of joy. With no opposition, there is no growth.
In the picture below is Munkhdemberel. Due to severe cerebral Palsy, life can be more difficult. Despite being shaky, he passes the sacrament. Despite barely being able to speak, he helps missionaries teach lessons and sings the hyms. Despite it being difficult to walk, he makes the 2 mile trek to church each week.
Jesus answered,
“Neither this man nor his parents sinned: but that the work (glory) of God may be manifest in him.”
Through Christ we shall overcome all. Jesus heals, he supports, he saves, he loves, and he lives.
Love, Elder Bateman
