Be ye doers #95

Hey fam, Hope you're all doing well! I'd love to hear from you—I'll definitely reply this week. The work here in Mongolia continues strong. It's been an amazing 94 weeks, and it's wild to think I’ve only got 12 left. A big highlight: Elder Cook and I witnessed our church sign an “Agreement of Understanding” with the Mayor of Ulaanbaatar—something that only happens every 5 years! Cool moment this week: we found a mother (Tsee) and her two sons who are interested in the Gospel. She already has strong faith in Christ and wants her boys to grow spiritually. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that a mother’s love is one of the most powerful forces on Earth. Spiritual thought John Bunyan, an influential 17th century preacher wrote this "He (The Lord) did not lay the blessing in knowing of them, but in the doing of them... A man may know like an angel, and yet be no Christian". Here is what Christ said "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." The blessing of doing what? Jesus Christ said "come, follow me"... "love one another". To which the apostle Paul added "visit the fatherless and the widows in their afflictions"... "comfort one another"... "edify one another"... and "support the weak". To know Christ is to obey him, and to know him is Joy. As Ammon said in the Book of Mormon "my joy is full, yea, my heart is brim with joy, and I will rejoice in my God." :) With Love, Elder Bateman
