Naadam #89
Hey family!
Hope life is treating all of you well as it's treating us in Mongolia!
This week was very special. We finished ZCs and celebrated 2 days of Naadam! Naadam is one of the largest national holidays. It's basically Mongolia's annual olympics consisting of traditional sports including wrestling, archery, horse racing, ect. The first day we saw the opening ceremony and wrestling with the missionaries in the city, and then capped off the day with 3v3 basketball. The second day, we went out 15km to watch horse racing with everyone. Although the week was light on missionary work, I really enjoyed soaking up Mongolia's culture during Naadam!
Spiritual thought
"It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see" Henry David Thoreau
In life we look at a lot of things and most often, we have no choice what we look at either. However, what we see is up to us.
Do we recognize the goodness or sin in those around us? Do we see the hand of God in our lives or perceive coincidence?
Doubt and faith is the difference between looking and seeing... the difference between merely watching and actively engaging.
I know that when we engage in the goodness of life, we find Jesus Chirst and our Father in Heaven.
We believe as the prophet Alma said... "all things denote there is a God" and I might add... God is good!
Love,
Elder Bateman
