President Namgur's farewell. #86
Hey fam!
How's it going? How's the good life treating yall?!
This week is the last week President Namgur and his family will be in Mongolia. To commemorate their dutiful and devoted service, the 2 stake presidents put on a fireside. 14 missionaries sang I believe in christ, 1st serve mongolian then 2nd japanese for Sister Namgur (She's japanese), back to mongolian before all the other 50 missionaries sitting amongst the audience stood and sang the 4th and final verse in english. No kidding, the weight of the spirit made it impossible for me to sing... I just sobbed the entire time. Then we gave them a shutterfly book with a picture and a note from 200 of the missionaries fortunate enough to serve with them!
This week we also saw many many miracles! One of our investigators, Batbold, voiced the audio for the Mongolian bible! Another family has two sons that are learning the gospel just like I'd like my children to learn some day!!
Elder Peterson and I took a group of HXP, or Humanitarian Experience kids to a church members house for Sunday dinner. When Zaya, the church member, fed us intestine meat in soup we were sure to say nothing about it haha. But seriously it was a great experience to inspire and uplift the youth.
Spiritual thought - from Zaya the members spiritual thought
39 For behold, this is my work and my glory—to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. Moses 1:39
Commonly, immortality is interpreted as the ability to live forever. We believe this is afforded to all of God's children. Whereas eternal life... we believe to be the state of eternal joy in the presence of God.
Zaya told us this... the 2 greatest callings in life are to 1. be a Parent 2. teach of Christ
To become a Mother or a Father is to bring children into existence thereby giving them the opportunity to be immortal. But to help your children or others come unto Christ is to help them receive eternal life. These are the 2 greatest things we can do... 1. create life and 2. help others find eternal life
I believe with all my heart our most sacred responsibility on earth is to be a Mother and Father, and to help others, our children, grandchildren, and everyone around us to find eternal joy through our Savior Jesus Christ.
What a privilege it is to help people find our shepherd Jesus Christ in Mongolia. What a privilege it will be to have a family of my own some day. I can't imagine a more joyful life than to become a father and share the joy of Christ with my family. Jeffrey R. Holland said this...
Is there anything sweeter, more pure, or more humble than a child at prayer? It is as if heaven is in the room.
Love, Elder Bateman
