Munkhkuslen's Baptism #81

Hey Fam! Hope yall are well and safe back home! Please send me a little update on your lives and what's new! This week my companion and I took the train up to Erdenet, the second largest city in Mongolia. There we did 2 exchanges... one in the newly opened Bulgan and one in Erdenet itself. On our way to Bulgan our taxi driver took us up and down the rolling hills of the countryside. We see goats, camels, horses, and human sized falcons. In Bulgan we met with members, investigators, and talked about how to progress God's great work. Elder Hancock and Martinez are laying the foundation for the church to flourish. Funny enough, Elder Martinez is my last companion... Elder Hancock is Elder Peterson's last too. Besides the work, we had fun playing baseball with a metal rod and rocks. After getting home on Saturday morning we had Munkhkhuslen's Baptism!!! He's a cute little 12 year old kid and I honestly treat him like a little brother (or my nephews lol). The power went out during the service which meant he had to bear his testimony in front of 40 supporters without a mic. He said this "The reason I wanted to get baptized was to be closer to my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ. I know God lives and Jesus is my Savior. In Jesus name amen". Spiritual thought While enduring the crucifixion on calvary hill, Jesus Christ hung next to two criminals. The man on one side mocked Christ and refused the punishment of his own wrongdoing. The other defended Jesus and accepted his fate as retribution. After the penitent man on one side defended him, he humbly pleaded to Christ... "Jesus, remember me when thou comest in thy kingdom. (To which Jesus compassionately replied) Verily I say unto thee, To-day shalt thou be with me in Paradise." From this we learn it's never too late, anybody can change at any time. Whether we suffer from addiction or a shameful past... whatever it might be, the grace of Jesus Christ can liberate us from it. Never lose hope... never give up. His grace is our divine medicine and its price is our humility to accept it. Love Elder Bateman
