Service, exchanges and Pee. #79
Hey Everyone,
Since I last wrote a lot has happened. Transfers happened and I'll be staying in enkhtaivan for a 5th transfer. Elder Peterson and I got to help pick up the trainees from the airport and spend the day with them.
While we were doing service this week the member's 5 year old son started crying bc/ he touched a stinging plant... the dad yanked his son's pants down and yelled "pee!" like there's always a little reserve in there haha. After 8 seconds of pushing, the son started to wash his hands in his pee 😆
This week we did 3 exchanges. With Elder Magaña we connected with an returned missionary who served a mission in Anaheim, his home town. With Elder Cook, we build a ger (yurt) foundation, adress checked, and won a game of pickup basketball in exchange for attendance to our english class. With Elder Hunt, we taught a lesson online with a mongolian lady who lives in Japan, and we helped build a fence for a members home. We also made friends with a mom and a 4 year old down syndrome kid. He is a fun ball of light, and a good wrestler haha 😄
Overall a great week! So greatful for these Elders I get to serve with. The families we are working with are making significant progress and God willing can soon be baptized!!
Spiritual thought:
Joseph Smith said about the Lord...
"Though some of the sheep may wander, the eye of the Shepherd is upon them, and sooner or later they will feel the tentacles of Divine Providence reaching out after them and drawing them back to the fold. Either in this life or the life to come, they will return. They will have to pay their debt to justice; they will suffer for their sins; and may tread a thorny path; but if it leads them at last, like the penitent Prodigal, to a loving and forgiving father’s heart and home, the painful experience will not have been in vain.”
God does not forsake you. He does not forsake our fellow man. He will not give up in guiding you home, even if you may be far away. Wether others are following the good Shepard back, or wondering for a time... let us be an uplifting and loving influence. Let us not discourage others away, but love them back.
Love,
Elder Bateman
