Families #51
Hey,
Couple updates! Our guy we wrote about last week has made it sober after 100 days of imcompacitation.
We went over to celebrate this first victory. His son wasn't scared of him, his wife wasn't scared, and he was smiling lots. He was watching general conference too. Looking forward to help him rejoin the church. The other family we sing songs with will be having their sons baptized this Saturday! It's been a blast teaching, playing games, wrestling, and singing with the 8, 9, and 13 year old. Their family regularly attends church now and are working to be ready to go to the temple.
We had the opportunity to do 2 exchanges this week. We went out for 3 days to baganuur and Khentii.
Spiritual thought - family
I've seen the Gospel enrich families on my mission. The tender first prayer of a child. Fathers regaining the trust of his wife and son after struggle with alcohol. The father who deciding to read a book to his children instead of smoke. The family singing hymns together and praying for one another. Siblings embracing, helping, and loving one another. When the spirit of the lord dwells in a home, there also dwells joy, hope, peace, and love.
The Gospel transforms families. I'll share again
"I will send you Elijah the prophet...And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children" Malachai 4:5-6
I know where the gospel is, there will you also find joy. If we are good here on earth, we will be with our families in heaven. I testify that God lives, he loves, and families are forever.
