Leaving Han Uul. #40
Hey Everyone!
Crazy to think It's been 40 weeks on the mission already.
Although only 5 weeks, this transfer was great. I trained a brand new missionary Elder Hunt which was a blast. We had 90 combined lessons and member meetings, 3 friends baptized, and 2 more on the way.
Next transfer, I'm teaming back up with Elder Peterson. We will be ZLs of the Ulaanbaatar city center zone.
Spiritual thought: Love thy Neighboor
I've been reading unspoken sermons lately by George MacDonald and its been great.
To paraphrase what he said...
Love of Neighboor is is the door out of the dungeon of self. Where instead of moping and contemplating ourself in darkness, we labour for our fellow brothers and sisters, enjoy the sweet sun light of God, and the sweet winds of the universe.
The most meaningful moments of my mission are when I'm actively loving others. When I share the knowledge of a loving God, when I laugh, mourn, dance, comfort, and enjoy life with my mongolian friends and companions.
In these moments there is no thought of self. There's just you, the other person, and the love of God that binds.
25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. Matthew 16:25
It is that indescribable feeling, that only comes from above.
Love, Elder Bateman
