Oscar and Amraa Baptism #37
Hey Everyone!
Amraa and Oscar (mother and her son) were baptized this Saturday! They took us out to a really nice lunch that day and we had over 30 people roll up to the baptism!
Here are 3 funny stories from the baptism:
1- After Oscar's face came out the water from baptism, he said "I wanna do it again!". He put his face in and starting doggy paddling 
2- I was conducting the baptismal service and everything was going well until the end.
I realized I hadn't asked anyone to give a closing prayer. So I called out one of our investigators "michael".
Right after I said "Michael will offer the closing prayer"
I hear a loud "Come on man... really?!" from the congregation.
For context michael has prayed outloud only once, so I made a huge mistake.
He comes up to the stand and whispers in my ear "what do I say?"
So I said "just thank everyone for coming, and thank God for his love"
He goes up to the pulpit shaking in his boots, with eyes open says "yeah so I just wanna thank everyone for coming tonight. Today was spectacular. What do I say... umm amen"
3- post baptism we had a surprise birthday party for elder Godfrey. The only problem is that the cake was super alcoholic, it literally reaked of fermentation. But my companion and I didn't want to ruin the moment so we may have indulged. And our investigator who is currently 15 days sober from alcohol also partook
Spiritual thought (11 year old Oscar's testimony)
God is our father and his son Jesus is our brother. God's our father because we created our spirits. He sent us to this world to become better. He did not send us here for nothing. Jesus is our brother because he is our savior. He is our savior because he saves us. I know that by following God I can find happiness.
His mother Amraa paraphrased - I believe in God above, and that Jesus is our savior. I know my son will become a good child of God by following the loving example of Jesus christ.
