Great Week! #8

 Hey Everybody!

Only 3 weeks left till' Mongolia! MTC is great, last Sunday I was assigned as district leader of our 13 person district. It's been a great opportunity to apply good leadership practices, to learn, and to grow. Also I set the MTC pull up record at 33 pull ups this week.

Spiritual Thought:

I'm going to be a little vulnerable this week and say that I often worry things won't work out. I worry if I will be able to find a wife, to have the chance to raise a family with her, if I'll be able to accomplish my goals and dreams, if I'll be able to become like Christ, or my Dad or Brother Christian, if I'll be able to make my parents proud, or If I'll live up to my own expectations.

But this week, Brother Mitton the 1st Counselor in our branch presidency gave this prophetic guidance. He said "Never counsel with your fears". He went on to explain, God does not want you to fear in fact he has commanded us not to. "For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee." Isaiah 41:13

Brother Mitton goes on "If we have true faith that God has a plan for each of us, we need not fear at all... Everything is going to work out". He said "If you yoke yourself with faith in God and Christ, love others, and keep the commandments God will bless you with an abundant life

I am inspired by Pual who embraced his liberty to do good and be joyful.

"Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: everywhere and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Phillipians 4:11-13

I know that true faith abounds in the hopeful and not the fearful. I will seek to embrace my God given liberty to choose love and service as Pual did.

Love you all so much,
Elder Bateman
